DaysofPal- Intense Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 100 Palestinians in just over two days, including many children, as truce negotiations are set to begin in Egypt.
The attacks come despite US President Donald Trump urging Israel on Friday to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza.”
The Gaza Strip has been heavily bombarded over the weekend by Israeli occupation forces, with strikes reported in residential neighborhoods, refugee camps, and humanitarian aid points.
Residents of Gaza City reported the use of explosive barrels dropped by remotely controlled vehicles targeting their homes in the al-Jalaa neighborhood and elsewhere.
According to the Government Media Office, at least 94 people were killed over Saturday and Sunday, with at least seven more reported dead Monday morning.
Over the weekend, Israeli forces carried out 131 air and artillery strikes on densely populated areas.
Since the start of the genocide, Israeli forces have killed at least 67,160 Palestinians, including more than 20,000 children. Approximately 9,500 people are missing and presumed dead, according to local authorities.
On Monday, an attack on the Greek Orthodox School in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood killed and injured several displaced Palestinians, including children.
Shelling was also reported near an aid distribution center southwest of Khan Younis. One Palestinian also died of malnutrition, bringing famine-related deaths to at least 460.
The latest violence comes as Hamas agreed to release all Israeli captives under a US-brokered 20-point ceasefire plan, though the group has not confirmed its position on other terms, such as disarmament and foreign troops in Gaza.
A Hamas delegation, led by chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, arrived in Egypt on Sunday for detailed discussions.
Israeli officials said their top negotiators and two US envoys will not attend Monday’s talks in Sharm el-Sheikh but are expected to join by Tuesday.
