A Palestinian resident of Jenin, in the north of the occupied West Bank, was informed by the Israeli arm today that the house he has rebuilt after the army has demolished it in 2018 will be demolished once again, according to the houseowner Jamal Qumba.
He said that he received a notice from the Israeli army informing him of the intention to demolish his house after an appeal by the Jerusalem Legal Aid and Human Rights Center (JLAC) on his behalf to the Israeli High Court against demolishing his house was rejected.
He said the house was built on the land where the army had first demolished their house in to punish the family for his son’s alleged participation in the killing of an Israeli settler near Nablus in the north of the West Bank. The son, Ahmad, has been in jail since January 17, 2018.
The army is also going to seize the land the house was built on for the same pretext.
Qumba said the 160-square meter house he lives in now with his 8-member family and which is going to be demolished actually belongs to his handicapped brother who has the land deeds to prove ownership of the house.
