DayofPal– From Dhaka to London, a powerful wave of solidarity surged across continents on Saturday, as tens of thousands of demonstrators rallied to demand an end to the ongoing bloodshed in Gaza.
The protests, ignited by the genocide in the besieged Palestinian enclave, echoed through the streets with chants, flags, and symbolic acts of remembrance and resistance.
In Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, Suhrawardy Park became a sea of protest, with nearly 100,000 people flooding the area in a striking show of unity with the Palestinian people.
Draped in keffiyehs and waving Palestinian flags, demonstrators chanted “Free Palestine!” as they carried symbolic coffins through the crowd, each one a grim reminder of the thousands killed in Israel’s relentless airstrikes.
Speakers condemned the deliberate targeting of civilians, particularly children, women, and the elderly. The crowd also turned its ire toward international backers of Israel’s atrocities, calling out U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their vocal support of the Israeli government.
In Kuala Lumpur, hundreds gathered in Malaysia’s capital, braving the heat to rally against the devastation unfolding in Gaza. Similar scenes played out across the globe, including in Paris, where demonstrators decried Israel’s violation of ceasefire agreements and renewed bombardment of the strip.
Parisian protesters demanded an end to the siege on Gaza and called for immediate humanitarian access. Many called for international legal action against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, branding him a war criminal. Placards urging a global boycott of Israel were held high as chants for justice echoed off the city’s historic boulevards.
Across the United Kingdom, major cities became flashpoints of protest. In London, massive crowds filled the streets, their message unified and urgent: a ceasefire now, and justice for Palestine. Protesters condemned the genocide supported and enabled by Western powers, chiefly the United States.
Since October 7, 2023, more than 166,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed or injured by Israeli military operations. The majority of the casualties are women and children. Over 11,000 remain missing, presumed buried beneath the rubble of homes, hospitals, and schools.
Saturday’s global demonstrations sent a resounding message: the world is watching and it refuses to be silent.
