DaysofPal- Gaza’s health ministry said Tuesday that eight people who were previously reported missing during the conflict have had their bodies and remains delivered to hospitals in Gaza in the last 24 hours.
The death toll was raised even further when three injured citizens succumbed to injuries sustained during the war.
Gaza’s health ministry reports that the most recent fatalities bring the total number of people killed since the start of the Israeli offensive on Gaza on October 7, 2023, to 48,219 and the number of wounded to 111,665.
The bodies of more missing people are still being recovered in various parts of the Gaza Strip.
In a separate incident, a Palestinian citizen was killed and another seriously wounded when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire in different areas of Rafah, south of Gaza. On Tuesday evening, the IOF shot and injured two more Palestinians in Rafah’s eastern garage area, local sources confirmed.
Despite the declared ceasefire, Israeli forces have continued their attacks. Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Ministry of Health, reported that since the ceasefire began on January 19, 2025, 118 Palestinians have been killed and 822 wounded by Israeli gunfire.
The Director of the Government Media Office, Ismail Thawabta, also disclosed that the IOF has violated the ceasefire 265 times, including by conducting incursions, shooting civilians, demolishing homes, and failing to follow humanitarian procedures.
He also pointed out the refusal to allow the restoration of hospitals and civil defense centers, the prevention of the entry of civil defense equipment and ambulances, medical devices and equipment, in addition to the prevention of the entry of tents and caravans, and the failure to operate the power plant and start its rehabilitation.
“All of this is agreed upon and stipulated in the humanitarian protocol emanating from the ceasefire decision, which the occupation pledged to abide by, but it reneged on it, procrastinated, and has not yet complied, he said.
