DaysofPal- The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza has warned that the continued Israeli obstruction of essential aid entry is exacerbating the deep humanitarian crisis in Gaza and endangering the lives of millions of civilians.
“This humanitarian crisis is worsening as half a million displaced Palestinians have returned to Gaza and the northern governorates over the past 72 hours via Al-Rashid and Salah Al-Din roads,” GMO said.
The GMO also called for the urgent implementation of the humanitarian protocol regarding the catastrophic situation in Gaza to ensure the immediate and unrestricted entry of relief and shelter supplies.
It emphasized that, given the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, all parties and mediators must exert maximum pressure on the Israeli occupation to fulfill its commitments and expedite the implementation of the humanitarian protocol, guaranteeing the entry of aid and shelter materials without restrictions.
The Office further stressed that fully reopening the crossings has become an urgent necessity to bring in tents and caravans to shelter more than a quarter of a million Palestinian families displaced by the Israeli occupation due to the genocide, following the systematic destruction of the housing sector.
GMO also emphasized the urgent need to bring in civil defense vehicles and equipment to enable rescue teams to carry out their humanitarian duties, including recovering the bodies of thousands of martyrs trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes and residential areas.
Along the same line, GMO stressed the necessity of allowing the entry of infrastructure maintenance supplies, including equipment for the power plant, water networks, and wells, to ensure the continuity of essential services and prevent the collapse of vital sectors.
