DaysofPal- Israeli occupation forces have escalated their offensive in Gaza, targeting a school repurposed as a shelter and multiple residential areas across the Strip. The attacks, which began in the early hours of the morning, killed at least 33 Palestinians.
This surge in violence comes despite ongoing negotiations for a potential ceasefire agreement, with mediators reporting that a deal is closer than ever.
11 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike that struck a home providing shelter to displaced people in the Al-Burka neighborhood of Deir al-Balah, according to local sources. Later, the number of victims increased to 13, including children. Palestinian sources also reported severe injuries from the airstrike.
Israeli warplanes attacked the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza a few minutes later, killing seven people in one attack. Northeast of the camp, Israeli forces simultaneously opened fire.
In the al-Bureij refugee camp, also in central Gaza, three members of the same family were killed in an early-morning airstrike on their home.
Early this morning, airstrikes returned to Gaza City, focusing on a school on Yarmouk Street that was providing shelter to displaced people. Five members of one family were killed, and several others were injured in the unannounced attack.
In southern Gaza, an airstrike on a house in the Nasr neighborhood north of Rafah killed five Palestinians, including a woman.
As discussions of a potential ceasefire agreement gained momentum, Israeli bombardments on the Gaza Strip escalated, leaving hundreds dead or injured in the past three days alone.
Medical sources reported that 63 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across various areas of Gaza since dawn on Tuesday. The attacks have been concentrated on Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and al-Maghazi in the central region, as well as Khan Yunis in the south.
