DaysofPal- Six Palestinians, including a child and three brothers, were killed in an Israeli drone strike on the Jenin refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank on Tuesday night.
Following the attack, several bodies were taken to Jenin Hospital, according to confirmation from the Palestinian Health Ministry. Witnesses said that an Israeli drone fired three missiles at a group of civilians inside the camp, killing three brothers and an adolescent while injuring others.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the deaths and identified the victims as Moamen Abul-Haija, 28, his younger brothers Amir and Baha, Mahmoud Gharbiya, 15, Husam Qannuh, 34, and Ibrahim Qanniri, 23.
This deadly assault occurred on the 42nd day of a stringent siege imposed on the camp by Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces. Eyewitnesses also said that PA forces opened fire on civilians attempting to evacuate the injured to hospitals.
A senior commander of the Jenin Brigade issued a statement condemning the attack, describing it as a deliberate targeting of civilians and children amidst the ongoing siege. He further called for the immediate withdrawal of PA forces from the area, emphasizing the urgent need for an end to the violence.
Israeli military forces also carried out raids in two other West Bank locations: the town of Anabta, east of Tulkarem, and the village of Marah Ma’ala, close to Bethlehem. In Anabta, soldiers stopped and detained a young man after intercepting his vehicle and conducting an interrogation, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.
These raids are part of Israel’s ongoing military operations in the West Bank, which have intensified since October 2023. The incursions align with a broader pattern of Israeli military actions that have resulted in numerous Palestinian arrests and confrontations across the occupied territories.
