Three Palestinians were reportedly killed Thursday by Israeli forces during a military raid into Jenin’s town of Qabatiya in the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources, Israeli invading soldiers cordoned off a house in the town and started to attack it with a barrage of gunfire, executing three Palestinians on the roof and injuring four others.
Medical teams said they managed to hospitalize a young man who sustained a moderate injury in his shoulder some meters near the besieged house.
In a separate attack, the body of a Palestinian was recovered from a car that was attacked by an Israeli airstrike in Qabatiya town, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Israeli forces also injured three other Palestinians, including a child who sustained critical wounds.
Israeli soldiers also obstructed Red Crescent teams from reaching the besieged house, conducted searches from the roof of one of the homes where the executed youths were located, and detonated a bomb in the vicinity of the house.
A number of journalists covering the raid were also targeted with tear gas canisters fired at them repeatedly.
In Abu Ar-Rab and Qabatiya schools, students were terrorized by the Israeli siege on their school after they found themselves trapped in their classrooms under heavy gunfire.
Ahmad Jarara’a, Qabatiya Education Director, told local sources that “nearly 1,000 students were besieged in two schools, while eight schools have been evacuated.”
He confirmed that the situation was very dangerous while trying to ensure the safety of students during their exit.
“The Israeli forces have turned the surroundings of Izzat Abu Ar-Rab and Qabatiya Elementary Schools into a war zone,” he added.
