Civil Defense Teams in Gaza said Thursday they believe Israeli occupation army had buried at least 20 Palestinians alive in the courtyard of Nasser Medical Complex, rising the toll to 302 who were buried in mass graves during military ground invasion in Khan Younis.

The Israeli occupation army buried a number of bodies in the Nasser Complex in plastic bags at a depth of 3 meters, which quickly decomposed them, according to the teams, adding that they discovered traces of torture on the bodies of some martyrs in the Hospital.

Gaza Media office held the occupation army accountable for committing field executions at the Medical Complex, demanding a probe and an international investigation into these crimes.

Two days ago, the Civil Defense teams had also exhumed the bodies of other 73 Palestinians from a mass grave in the courtyards of Nasser Complex.

Some 42 victims had been identified while the rest remain unidentified as the Israeli army deliberately buried them deep in sand and dumping waste on them.

The fate of about 2,000 Palestinians who were inside the Medical Complex is still unknown, and it is not known whether they were detained or killed and their bodies were hidden, Head of Government Media Office Salama Maarouf said.

In same regard, South Africa has called on the international community to urgently lead a thorough and impartial investigation into the recent discovery of mass graves in different areas across the Gaza Strip, after the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army.

“South Africa is appalled by the recent grim discovery of a mass grave containing the remains of 202 Palestinian civilians at Nasser Hospital in Gaza,” the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) said in a statement.
