The World Angers Over Israel’s Murder of World Central Kitchen Workers
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

‘Israel’ has been facing accusation of breaching the international law and wide maelstrom over targeting three vehicles of World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Gaza.

The tragic loss of seven aid volunteers affiliated with the World Central Food Kitchen (WCK), from UK, Poland,  Australia and Canada, who were murdered by the Israeli army while on their duty early Tuseday in Gaza has notably triggered a widespread anger and scathing condemnations to sue ‘Israel’.

Following the incident, several Humanitarian aid organizations, including World Central Kitchen amd Anera, have rerouted aid ships bound for Gaza back to Cyprus, declaring historical suspensions due to the Israeli deadly attack that targeted aid convoy delegation in Deir al-Balah.

The British Foreign Office immediately summoned the Israeli ambassador over the killing of aid workers in Gaza.

Former British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn also commented that “This is a war on civilians. On doctors trying to save lives. On aid workers trying to feed Palestinians. On teachers trying to put a smile on the faces of children. This is a war on humanity — and our government should never be forgiven for its contemptible complicity.”

Likewise, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the country’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has summoned the Israeli ambassador over the killing of Zomi Franckom, an Australian citizen partaking the WCK mission in Gaza.

UN rights expert Francesca Albanese commented on Israel’s killing of the international aid workers on Gaza:
“On the day Israel bombed a foreign embassy in a third country,  it also killed World Central Kitchen humanitarian workers. Israel is crossing every possible red line, still with full impunity. Sanctions now. Indictements now.
Knowing how ‘Israel’ operates, my assessment is that Israeli forces intentionally killed WCK workers so that donors would pull out & civilians in Gaza could continue to be starved quietly. ‘Israel’ knows Western countries & most Arab countries won’t move a finger for the Palestinians.”

UNICEF spokesperson Tess Ingram emphasized during a Sky News interview the recurrent Israeli attacks on humanitarian convoys in Gaza, stressing the impressing need for a a guaranteed coordination system with Israeli occupation forces. However, ‘Israel’ isn’t providing any.

US Response

US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, justifies the ongoing US arms support to ‘Israel’ as “A longstanding commitment to Israel’s security” during a conference with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Stéphane Séjourné. His remarks came immediately after discussing the killing of foreign volunteers by Israeli precision weapons in Gaza.

In response to questions from journalists about the recent Israeli attack on the WCK delegation, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stressed emphatically that ‘Israel’ has not, until today, committed any violations of international human rights law in Gaza.

Some proved pro-Israel media companies such as BBC fails to mention ‘Israel’ as the party responsible for the killing of seven international aid workers last night in an airstrike in central Gaza

Israel’s Account

Israeli military changed its narrative several times  regarding the killing of the innocent WCK’s workers to evade the accountability like how it did with the killing of AlJazeera Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh on May 11,2022.

According to an Israeli media report, citing sources in the Israeli occupation forces, attributes the Israeli precision attack on a humanitarian aid convoy to “a lack of discipline” and dismisses any coordination issues.

The Israeli military has claimed the incident to a “side bomb” planted by Hamas and intended for its forces in Deir Al-Balah despite that the city is a home to hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians and there none of ground fighting have yet taken place between Israeli forces and Hamas fighters.

Netanyahu’s office stated “Our forces unintentionally hit innocent individuals in Gaza.”
