July saw an elevated number of Israeli occupation violations in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
During the reporting period, at least 6558 colonial Israeli settlers invaded the courtyards of Al-Aqsa mosque and performed provocative Talmudic rituals in some of its yards, citing Hebrew holidays as a pretext.
All colonial settlers and the settlements in which they live are illegal under international law.
The report recorded the Israeli occupation detention of at least 164 Palestinians including 3 women and 24 minors.
Moreover, at least 63 arrest decisions were issued by the Israeli occupation including 11 administrative detentions, 25 house arrests, and 27 prison sentences, according to data collected by Marsad Network.
At the same time, the Israeli occupation issued 21 banishment orders against Jerusalemite activists as well as employees of the Jerusalem Waqf (Endowment) Department, ِAl-Qastal reported.
Israeli troops wounded 16 Palestinians varying between live and rubber-coated metal bullets, severe attacks by Israeli forces and settlers, burns, head injuries, and fractures, in addition to hundreds of suffocation cases as a result of tear gas canisters being fired directly towards Palestinians.
During the reporting period, Israeli settlers have carried out 29 attacks against Palestinians and their own property in occupied Jerusalem, including severely beating Palestinians, land theft, violating Islamic and Christian sanctities, and writing racist slogans on Jerusalemites’ cars and sabotaging them.
The Israeli occupation forces leveled 37 Palestinian-owned structures in occupied Jerusalem, leaving its people homeless.
Israeli occupation authorities strive to impose a new reality on the occupied city of Jerusalem through the implementation of dangerous colonial settlement projects.
Israeli occupation approved 5 settlement projects in various areas of occupied Jerusalem including:
- New plan to build 450 settlement units between the towns of Umm Lisun and Jabal Al Mukaber.
- A new Israeli plan to establish 670 settlement units in the town of Beit Safafa.
- A plan to colonize 140 dunums and build 3,500 settlement units and 1,300 hotel rooms south of Jerusalem.
