Turkey, Saudi Arabia Condemn Ben-Gvir’s Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Turkey and Saudi Arabia expressed strong condemnation of Itamar Ben-Gvir’s storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli occupation forces IOF on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Ben-Gvir’s storming of Al-Aqsa poses a flagrant violation of International law.

“We call on Israel to act responsibly to prevent such provocations that will violate the historical status of Al-Haram Al-Sharif,” the Turkish foreign ministry said in a statement.

Meanwhile, a statement by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs decried Israel’s minister raid of Al-Aqsa Mosque, holding Israel fully responsible for the consequences of this provocative step.

Saudi Foreign Ministry confirmed that these systematic practices are a flagrant violation of all international norms and covenants, as well as a provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world.

Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s security minister, invaded the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque along with dozens of Israeli settlers, triggering Palestinian and Muslim anger.

Palestinian media sources reported that 469 Israeli settlers invade Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli occupation forces earlier on Sunday.

Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia also condemned a provocative raid by Ben Gvir on Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for Israel to stop such provocative actions.

Israeli settlers carry out semi-daily incursions into the blessed Mosque in Jerusalem and provocatively perform Talmudic rituals under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

Meanwhile, Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem continue their calls to mobilize at Al-Aqsa to confront the Israeli settlers’ calls for mass raids in Al-Aqsa.

In April 2023, nearly 5054 Israeli settlers invaded the courtyards of Al-Aqsa mosque and performed provocative Talmudic rituals at its courtyards.
