Palestinian lawyer Salah Al-Hammouri, who was deported to France by the Israeli occupation after a 9-month administrative detention, has been subjected to two assaults by the Zionist lobby in France during his participation in two conferences on the Nakba, prisoners, and Palestine, held in the cities of Toulouse and Paris.
Al-Hammouri explained that a conference was organized in Toulouse to discuss the Nakba and Palestinian prisoners. From the beginning of the conference, there were screams and calls from the Zionist lobby branding him as a terrorist and unworthy, aiming to prevent him from speaking about the Palestinian cause in France.
He further pointed out that during a meeting at a university in Arras, dozens of students from the Zionist lobby tried to attack him inside the conference. He mentioned that one person assaulted him and flipped the table.
Al-Hammouri stated that this continued assault is an extension of the persecution he faced after imprisonment and deportation and is part of the occupation’s attempts to silence him.
He added, “The Zionist lobby does not act alone, and this is an extension of the persecution after imprisonment and deportation.” Al-Hammouri clarified that there is a decision from Tel Aviv to impose complete silence on Palestine in France.
Al-Hammouri stated that he intends to file a complaint against the group that was present at the conference and assaulted him.
He emphasized that these attacks will not silence him and that he will continue working for Palestine in France. He also called on the world to exert pressure against the occupation and its actions.
Salah Al-Hammouri, a lawyer and human rights defender, was deported by the Israeli authorities to France on the morning of December 18, 2022, after 9 months of administrative detention.
Al-Hammouri is a lawyer at the “Addameer” Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association. His mother is French, his father is Palestinian from Jerusalem, where he was born and raised. He is married to a French woman and is a father of two children.
He has been subjected to a systematic campaign by the Israeli occupation, starting from arbitrary administrative detention, spying on his phone, to the revocation of his Jerusalem residency, and finally his deportation and subsequent harassment.
