Israeli occupation airstrikes continued on Saturday, 13 May 2023 on Palestinian citizens’ homes in the Gaza Strip for the fifth day.
Local Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupation warplanes targeted a house west of the Nusseirat camp owned by the Al-Louh family. No injuries were reported.
Israeli occupation warplanes bombed a house for the Al-Haw family in Jabalia, east of Gaza City, in addition to new raids targeted locations in the north of Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, and Beit Lahia.
Israeli warplanes targeted a house for the Tafesh family in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood and completely destroyed the house.
Palestinian sources noted that a Palestinian man was injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted his bicycle east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Israeli occupation Warplanes targeted a house belonging to the Palestinian family of Nabhan west of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, without prior warning.
Iyad Al-Bozom, the spokesman for the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza rejected the Israeli allegation that they make every feasible measure to mitigate harm to civilians as much as possible, saying they meant to “justify their crimes against innocent civilians”.
“We stress that the residential units devastated by the Israeli occupation were inhabited by Palestinian civilians. Allegations by the Israeli occupation that these houses contained military targets are false and incorrect,” Bozom said in a statement.
In a related incident, the Palestinian Ministry of Health evacuated the South Ambulance Station and transferred its services completely from the Al-Najjar Center in Khan Yunis to the Nasser Medical Complex.
In a brief statement, the Ministry of Health explained that Israeli occupation warplanes targeted the center’s vicinity last night for the second time and caused disruption of its communication network.
Israeli occupation warplanes bombed two homes in the northern Gaza Strip owned by the Banat family in the town of Beit Lahia and the Al-Za’anin family in Beit Hanoun. The airstrikes completely destroyed the targeted homes and caused severe damage to the neighboring houses and properties.
The ongoing Israeli aggression since Tuesday on the Gaza Strip killed 33 Palestinians including 6 children, 4 women, and 3 elderly Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Ministry added that 147 Palestinians including 24 children, 13 women, and 3 elderly Palestinians were injured in Israeli occupation airstrikes that targeted Palestinian homes in Gaza.
Almost 800 Palestinians have been displaced by the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which began on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Social Development in the besieged coastal enclave, 784 people have been internally displaced.
For the fifth consecutive day, both Israeli-controlled crossings, Erez (for people) and Kerem Shalom (for goods), are closed. The closure is preventing the access of hundreds of people to and from Gaza, including patients and workers, among them aid workers, and preventing the entry of truckloads of goods a day carrying vital items such as food, medical supplies, and fuel.
According to MoH in Gaza, the closure has prevented 432 patients and companions from traveling to receive treatment in Palestinian or Israeli hospitals outside.
MoH in Gaza added that 27 of those patients were in need of critical lifesaving intervention.
Also due to the closure, the available fuel for the operation of the Gaza Power Plant is being depleted, forcing a reduction in electricity production. This has resulted in a reduction of power supply to between 12 and 14 hours per day, seriously undermining the provision of services, including health, water, and sanitation.
Israeli occupation continues its systematic policy which targets residential buildings and densely populated neighborhoods. The Israeli regime disregards international humanitarian laws and takes advantage of the international community’s failure to hold it accountable for its violations.
