Thousands of Palestinians Attend Ramadan’s First Friday at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa

Thousands of Palestinian worshipers attended the first Friday of the holy month of Ramadan despite Israel’s strict restrictions.

Jerusalem’s Islamic Waqf confirmed that 100 thousand Muslim worshipers, mainly Palestinians, performed the Noon prayer on the first Friday of the month of Ramadan at the holy site.

The Waqf said Palestinians from the occupied West Bank, 1948-occupied Palestine, and occupied Jerusalem succeeded in reaching the holy site and attending the Friday sermon and prayers.

The worshipers then gathered in the prayer halls of the mosque and in the courtyards, confirming their spiritual links to the holy site and rejecting the Israeli systematic Judaization policy.

They also read the holy Quran before enjoying their time while roaming the mosque.

Well-armed Israeli occupation troopers deployed in the streets of the occupied city and at the mosque’s gates and in its vicinity.

Israeli forces have reportedly placed military checkpoints in the streets of occupied Jerusalem. They obstructed the movement of the worshipers to the holy site.

An Israeli military drone was also seen hovering over the holy site while the worshipers were praying.

Israeli occupation also imposed strict restrictions on the entry of Palestinians to the compound and prevented thousands of Palestinians from entering the al-Aqsa Mosque.
