“the government is preparing an unprecedented plan for settlement in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), and it will take important steps to legitimize and increase Jewish settlements there,” said the Israeli newspaper “Israel Hayom”.
According to the newspaper, the most important thing in the occupation government’s plan is “the approval of thousands of plans to build Israeli settlements, annex Palestinian lands, and remove the Civil Administration from the Ministry of Security.
“They expect that the Supreme Council for Planning and Building in Judea and Samaria will approve 18,000 new (settlement) housing units in the coming months,” it added.
According to the newspaper, the plan will include the completion of settlement projects suspended by the previous Israeli government.
The occupation exacerbates the isolation of the Palestinians in the West Bank, as the international human rights organization, Human Rights Watch, published a report in which it talked about the Israeli occupation’s restrictions on the entry of foreigners into the West Bank. Netanyahu Government
The report added that the Israeli occupation has always made it difficult for foreigners to teach, study, volunteer, work, or live in the West Bank, noting that the new Israeli regulations “legalize and tighten restrictions imposed for a long time.”
“Israel is making it more difficult to spend time in the West Bank, so it is taking more steps to make the West Bank like Gaza, where 2.4 million Palestinians have effectively lived in isolation from the outside world since more than 15 years.”
It noticed that this policy “was designed to weaken the social, cultural, and intellectual relations that the Palestinians are trying to maintain with the outside world.”
“The occupation army has no right to determine the qualified academics to teach in Palestinian universities, or prevent human rights activists from interacting with the occupied peoeple, or dispersing families cruelly,” stressed the report.
The report concluded that “this Israeli policy in the West Bank deepens the separation between the Palestinians across different regions, and strengthens the Israeli control over the lives of the Palestinians.”
