The Palestinian Al Mezan Center For Human Rights called Tuesday, November 29, 2022, on the international community to work to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, to hold it accountable for its crimes in accordance with the United Nations Charter and its resolutions, and to stop using double standards.
Tuesday, November 29, 2022, coincides with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which was approved by the United Nations General Assembly in its Resolution No. (32/40) in the year 1977, and it is the day on which Partition Resolution No. (181) was issued in the year 1947. ,
The center called on peoples around the world to strengthen their solidarity activities with the Palestinian people and to expose the violations committed by the racist colonial occupation forces against the Palestinians.
It added, “The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People comes amid the continued domination of the Israeli occupation authorities, for 74 years, over the Palestinian land and all its natural resources by force, flouting the rules of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy.”
The Center indicated that the Palestinian territories are witnessing systematic violations of the rules of international law, amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity, as well as the crime of apartheid and racial discrimination.
It added that the Israeli occupation forces continue to commit willful killings, forcible displacement, demolishing homes and razing agricultural lands as collective punishment of the Palestinian people.
It continued, “It is exaggerating the campaign of ethnic cleansing in the city of Jerusalem and isolating it from its surrounding Palestinian cities and villages in order to completely Judaize it, while depriving the Palestinians of their right to practice their religious rites, including the freedom of access to the city of Jerusalem.”
The Center stated that the occupation forces continue campaigns of arbitrary arrest of civilians, storming Palestinian cities and camps in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, using excessive force and causing damage to Palestinian homes and property.
It pointed out that the occupation forces continue to create new facts by expanding the illegal Israeli settlement policy and increasing the areas of settlements and continue to protect and encourage its settlers to escalate their almost daily attacks and assaults on the Palestinian people, their lands, and properties.
It explained that the occupation forces imposed a tight blockade on the Gaza Strip for the 16th year in a row, and carried out large-scale military attacks targeting the civilians and their property, which caused the death and injury of hundreds of defenseless Palestinian civilians, and widespread destruction of basic facilities.
According to the center, the Israeli occupation is making the humanitarian crisis more difficult for the residents of the Gaza Strip, especially in light of restricting the freedom of movement of Palestinians, narrowing the workspace for farmers and fishermen, and depriving them of the right to work freely in their lands.
The occupation also denies Palestinian patients from receiving treatment and accessing health facilities outside the Gaza Strip.
