Israeli occupation high court rejected a petition Sunday, August 21, 2022, to stop demolishing two Palestinian schools and 32 houses and structures, local sources reported.
The head of Al-Masafer Village Council, Nidal Younes, said that the occupation court issued a decision rejecting the petition submitted by four residential communities against the occupation’s decision to demolish two schools, in addition to a large number of Palestinian structures and houses.
He added that this decision constitutes a green light for the occupation army for the demolition, and it’s expected that it will be take place at any moment.
It’s noteworthy that the Israeli occupation court issued a decision to reject the petition submitted by 12 residential communities against the decision issued in 1981, which stipulated the complete closure of Masafer Yatta, and the declaration of more than 30,000 dunams of its lands as closed areas, indifferent to the fact that they are inhabited areas, which means their demolition and displacement nearly 4,000 Palestinian citizens.
In the context, the coordinator of the popular and national committees to resist the wall and settlements, Ratib Jabour, said that Israeli settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked a number of shepherds and destroyed the agricultural crops of the Palestinian citizens belonging to the families of Abu Tabikh and Idais families.
Jabour considered that this aggression is a normal result of the occupation court’s decision which provided cover to the Israeli forces and settlers to attack the Palestinians and confiscate their lands in favor of settlement expansion.
He called the International Community and human rights organizations to stand up to their responsibilities to put an end to the occupation, and its continuous aggressions and to immediately interfere to stop this humanitarian catastrophe that the occupation intends to implement by demolishing these communities and displacing their people.
