A play based on Rachel Corrie’s memoirs is rebooted, Saturday, August 13th, in North Ireland.

The play “My Name is Rachel Corrie”, based on the diaries written by the late American activist affiliated with the international movement of solidarity with Palestine, the martyr Rachel Corrie, will be shown in theaters in Northern Ireland.

Corrie was martyred after being delibritly run over by an Israeli occupation army bulldozer while she was trying to protest and prevent the demolition of a Palestinian house in Rafah in the Gaza Strip in 2003.

Rachel Corrie lies in the dirt, waiting for medical help with three other International Solidarity Movement activists, after she was crushed under an Israeli bulldozer in Rafah, Gaza, on March 16, 2003.

Written by the late Alan Rickman and Catherine Viner, based on Rachel’s memoirs, the play is directed by Mayer Mahek Domhenel and starred by Rosie McNally. It includes a song written by poet Paul McAdam.

The play was shown for the first time in Northern Ireland in 2016, and is currently being re-run, after it was very popular with the Northern Irish audience.

All proceeds from the performance will go directly to supporting Palestinian institutions.
