Days of Palestine – Gaza
Hamas Movement hailed, in a statement issued Thursday, the Iraqi parliament’s approval for the first reading of a bill seeking to ban the normalization or establishment of relations with Israel.
The move translates the Iraqi people’s historical positions in support of the Palestinian people and their fair national cause, the statement said.
The Movement further hailed all anti-normalization positions, calling on all parliaments in the Arab and Islamic world to follow on the footstep of the Iraqi parliament.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Iraqi parliament gave the first reading to a bill seeking to ban the normalization or establishment of relations with Israel. The legislation would also apply to the Kurdistan Region.
Meanwhile, a member of Hamas’s political bureau Khalil al-Hayya has affirmed that the Palestinian people are determined to end the Israeli occupation and oust it from their land, describing their options in this regard as “decisive.”
In an interview conducted with him by the al-Aqsa satellite channel on Wednesday, Hayya said that the Israeli occupation state’s attempts to impose itself as a reality and devour the Palestinian land through settlement expansion, intimidation, terrorism, killing, and normalization deals would be doomed to failure.
“The occupation does not recognize the Palestinian people’s rights and is trying to perpetuate its existence on our land; however, our people are working at the same pace to eradicate it,” the Hamas official added.
He warned that any harm that comes to Palestinian resistance leaders, including Yehya as-Sinwar and Saleh al-Aruri, would be a “declaration of war” by the Israeli occupation, adding that the Palestinian people would respond strongly to any Israeli escalation.
He described Israel’s recent threats to assassinate resistance leaders as a “reflection of its cowardice, weakness and fragility,” asserting that such threats only make the Palestinian people and their resistance more determined to resist it.
