The Ministry of Water and Environmental Quality launched on Tuesday 18. Jan.2022 a distress call to the international community, warning of an environmental disaster that threatens the lives of the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza, with a population of 2.3 million, is compounded by the occupation’s prevention of the entry of materials needed to modernize the infrastructure and rainwater harvesting equipment to be used to bridge the shortage in the Strip, which portends an imminent humanitarian catastrophe.
It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation has imposed a stifling blockade on the Gaza Strip for 16 years, including basic reconstruction materials such as cement, iron and other basic materials needed to re-establish the infrastructure that was extensively targeted during the May 2021 aggression.
