DaysofPal- Official Palestinian data has revealed that 70 Palestinians have been killed and many others injured by Israeli military fire and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of 2026.
In a brief statement published on its Telegram channel on Monday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 70 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli forces and settlers between the start of the year and Monday morning. The victims include 17 children, five women, and two elderly people.
In a separate update, the ministry said it had been informed by the General Authority for Civil Affairs of the deaths of 15-year-old Reda Sami Hassan Awad and 19-year-old Issa Arafat Ismail Awad. Both were fatally shot by Israeli occupation forces during a raid in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, in the early hours of Monday.
The announcement came a day after another Palestinian child and a young man were killed and two others wounded by Israeli gunfire near the settlement of Karmei Tzur, which is built on privately owned Palestinian land north of Hebron in the southern West Bank.
The West Bank has continued to witness heightened tensions and violence as Israeli forces and settlers carry out daily raids, killings, arrests, home demolitions, and attacks targeting Palestinian property and religious sites.
In this context, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 1,659 violations during May alone. According to the commission, 1,108 of those incidents were carried out by Israeli occupation forces, while settlers were responsible for 551 attacks.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli aggression in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, has resulted in the killing of 1,171 Palestinians, including children and women, and the injury of 12,666 others, according to Palestinian figures. The same data indicates that around 23,000 Palestinians have been arrested and approximately 33,000 displaced during the same period.
