DaysofPal – Israeli occupation forces killed at least 61 Palestinians in various parts of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to medical sources, as attacks continue to target both civilian areas and aid distribution points amid a worsening humanitarian catastrophe.

Health officials in Gaza confirmed that 39 of the victims were killed while waiting for humanitarian aid in central Gaza. Among them, 25 Palestinians lost their lives when Israeli forces opened fire near the Netzarim junction, south of Gaza City, in an area known to be a hub for food distribution coordinated by the United States and Israel. Witnesses and health workers described the attack as a deliberate strike against civilians desperately seeking food.

Elsewhere in the Strip, the director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that eight Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential home in Deir al-Balah.

In a separate incident early Wednesday morning, four Palestinians were killed and over 90 injured when Israeli forces targeted displaced people waiting for aid along Salah al-Din Street, one of Gaza’s main thoroughfares, according to medical personnel at Al-Aqsa Hospital.

Further south, at least four Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike on a tent sheltering displaced families in Al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis. In the same region, Israeli aircraft and artillery also struck areas surrounding the Nasser Medical Complex, as well as the neighborhoods of Qizan Abu Rashwan and Al-Batin Al-Samin at dawn.

Hospital sources confirmed that a total of 82 Palestinians have been killed since Tuesday morning, including 20 shot while trying to access humanitarian aid near the Netzarim junction and the Nablus roundabout west of Gaza City.

On Tuesday evening, three paramedics and Palestinian journalist Momen Abu Al-Aouf were killed when Israeli forces targeted a medical rescue team attempting to retrieve the bodies of victims from a previously bombed home in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Humanitarian agencies and the Gaza Government Media Office have warned that Israel’s continued closure of aid crossings, particularly those bringing food, has pushed 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza into severe famine conditions. The United Nations has stated that this strategy amounts to deliberate starvation aimed at forcing displacement.

Since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the United States, has been committing acts of genocide in Gaza, including mass killings, enforced famine, systematic destruction of homes and infrastructure, and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands.

The ongoing campaign has left over 181,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, the majority of whom are women and children. More than 11,000 remain missing beneath the rubble. Entire neighborhoods have been erased, hospitals rendered inoperable, and access to food, water, and medical care has been nearly eliminated.
