Thirty-one Palestinians sustained injuries from Israeli gunfire and gas grenades during protests along the eastern fence of the Gaza Strip on Friday evening, September 22, 2023.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that among the injured, one was directly struck by a gas bomb in the eastern part of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
Additionally, two young men were wounded by live ammunition in the Malaka area in eastern Gaza and the Al-Bureij region in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
In another incident, Israeli occupation forces fired a tear gas grenade that seriously wounded a Palestinian youth in Khan Younis, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
Prior to these attacks, Palestinian youth launched incendiary balloons toward Israeli settlements adjacent to the Gaza Strip, in an attempt to exercise pressure on the occupation to stop its ongoing assaults against Palestinians.
Solidarity Protests
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered at various points along the Gaza Strip’s northern, central, and southern borders on Friday evening.
These ongoing protests reflect Palestinian youth’s determination to show solidarity with Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem and to support prisoners held in Israeli jails.
The demonstrations also serve as a platform to condemn the prolonged Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2006, which has severely impacted all aspects of life and exacerbated the hardships faced by Gaza’s families.
