Israeli occupation forces opened fire at five Palestinian journalists while covering an Israeli military incursion into the occupied city of Jenin today Monday, July 3, 2023, damaging their cameras.
The Arab TV correspondent Amid Shihada said he was with the photographers Rabih Al-Munir, Issam Al-Rimawi, Hisham Abu Shaqra, and Abd Al-Rahman Younis, covering the Israeli aggression on the Jenin camp.
The journalists managed to take protection behind a wall at the last moment that saved their lives, as Israeli forces fired over ten bullets at them, damaging their equipment.

Al-Rimawi said that the Israeli force deliberately targeted them, and if they didn’t rush to take cover behind the wall, they would have lost their lives.
Al-Rimawi indicated that Israeli bullets hit the camera and the transmitter, and they were burned immediately.
Shehadeh and Al-Rimawi reported that they were trapped with their colleagues for more than two hours, amid heavy shooting by the occupation forces, before the Red Cross and Red Crescent medical crews managed to reach them and take them to a safe area.
The Journalists Support Committee strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ shooting of journalists and press crews in the city of Jenin and its camp while covering the Israeli aggression, which is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and international humanitarian documents.
This morning, Israeli troops carried out a military incursion into the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, killing at least nine Palestinians and wounding around 25 others.
