Two Palestinian female prisoners receive harsh and inhumane treatment in Israeli prisons, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees said on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
The Commission pointed out that the Palestinian-injured prisoner Fatima Shaheen and prisoner Itaf Jaradat are held in Al-Ramleh prison under harsh conditions.
It also added that Israeli occupation forces IOF shot Shaheen in the spine and abdomen area, leaving her paralyzed before arresting her.
“Shaheen suffers from severe pain that keeps her awake all night,” the Commission said, adding that Israeli occupation authorities deprived her of family visits and contact.
Israel currently holds up to 5000 Palestinian detainees, including 31 women and 160 children, according to statistics by Addameer.
