DayofPal– Gaza’s Civil Defence reported Friday that the Israeli army launched a devastating assault on the Jabalia refugee camp last night, reducing 11 residential buildings to rubble and killing at least 150 civilians.
Gaza’s civil defence has described it as one of the “major massacre” they have witnessed since the Israeli war started against the Gazan population.
Local sources and journalists indicated that approximately 150 civilians, including women and children, were either killed or injured in the assault, all were bombed without prior warning.
These families were killed after being trapped in their homes by Israeli forces with no access to food or water for over 20 days under Israeli gunfire, finding no alternatives amid Israeli army escalations.
The death toll of the massacre is expected to climb, as ambulance and rescue teams struggle to reach the attacked site in the Al-Hawaja area of Jabalia camp, hampered by restrictions from the Israeli forces.
Local sources revealed that the bombed buildings belonged to the following families: Al-Najjar, Abu Al-Auf, Salman, Hijazi, Abu Al-Qumsan, Aql, Abu Rashid, Abu Al-Tarabish, Zaqoul, and Shaalan.
Al Jazeera journalist Anas Al-Sharif said that 150 people have been killed or injured in a horrific massacre in Jabalia’s Al-Hawaja with no civil defense to retrieve the bodies, with no journalists or media coverage, and nothing left to in the camp but death and destruction.
He added that the people have been torn to shreds, and the wounded are dying without any ambulances or access to hospitals—no one hears or sees them… except for Allah.
This attack comes as northern Gaza has been enduring a brutal siege and ongoing air and ground assault that has now stretched into its third week.
The Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the bloody assault and labelled it as a “savage” Israeli attack on the Jabalia refugee camp.
He deemed it a “flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, a continuation of the systematic brutal targeting of civilians, and a horrific war crime for which those responsible must be held accountable”, according to the state-run Jordan News Agency.
