DaysofPal- More than 1,000 medical workers, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, have been killed by Israeli attacks on Gaza since October, the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
In a press conference, delivered by Director General of Field Hospitals Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, the Ministry further pointed out that the occupation army destroyed dozens of hospitals and medical centers, turning them inoperable, and has forced over 130 ambulances out of service.
The occupation army also targeted and destroyed the Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital in the Rafah Governorate, he said, adding that 300,000 people were served by the medical facility.
“(The hospital) provided health services during the genocide war to one and a half million displaced people and citizens before the Israeli invasion of Rafah Governorate.”
In this regard, Al-Hams called on the international community to take a “serious stand” to restore and protect the health sector.
The Ministry of Health underlined that the Israeli army targeted over the past few hours the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip “directly and without any reason”.
The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital stated that the facility is going through a “extreme catastrophe” as a result of Israeli forces shooting at the structure while elderly and malnourished patients seek care there.
The Israeli occupation forces repeatedly and directly attacked medical facilities with airstrikes and raids, causing the health system to collapse and hundreds of thousands of war victims to face certain death.
