Yahya Sinwar, the political leader of Hamas movement, dispatched a letter to Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, the head of the Ansar Allah movement, conveying his profound appreciation for the latter’s steadfast support of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, Al Jazeera reported on Monday Sept.16th, 2024.
Sinwar underscored in his letter that Hamas’s Al-Aqsa Flood operation was designed to deliver a decisive blow to the Zionist agenda, both within the Palestinian territories and across the broader regions.
He conveyed his deep gratitude for the Houthis’ “genuine sentiments and resolute determination,” which, he acknowledged, had been manifestly evident both on the battlefield and through their ongoing communications.
Sinwar also extended his congratulations to Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi for the recent achievements of Houthi missile strikes, which breached deep into Israel and evaded Israeli defense systems.
“I commend the successful penetration of your missiles into the core of the Zionist entity, overcoming multiple layers of defense and interception systems,” Sinwar remarked.
The letter came in the wake of Ansar Allah’s announcement regarding the initiation of the fifth phase of their operations, undertaken in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance amidst the continuing genocide in Gaza.
This letter marks Sinwar’s third public communiqué since his election as head of Hamas on August 6.
His inaugural message was a congratulatory note to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his re-election, in which he lauded Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Three days prior, Sinwar dispatched another letter to Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, expressing gratitude for Hezbollah’s participation in the Al-Aqsa Flood campaign against Israeli forces.
Hezbollah’s media office disclosed this correspondence last Friday, recognizing the pivotal role the organization played in supporting the resistance.
Sinwar also addressed Nasrallah’s earlier letter, in which the Hezbollah leader congratulated Sinwar on his election and expressed condolences for the assassination of former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in Tehran on July 31.
Sinwar reiterated that the killing of leaders like Haniyeh serves as a testament that the blood of Palestinian leaders is no more valuable than that of the Palestinian people.
