The headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza City has been completely destroyed and transformed into a battlefield, according to the agency’s chief, Philippe Lazzarini. This destruction comes as part of Israel’s ongoing ground campaign in the city.
Lazzarini reported the dire situation, emphasizing the severe impact on civilians, including children. In the past 24 hours alone, 80 Palestinians have been killed, with the Israeli occupation deploying fighter jets, heavy artillery, and helicopter gunships to attack Gaza from the north to the south.
The escalating violence has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with infrastructure being decimated and the civilian population bearing the brunt of the conflict. The destruction of UNRWA’s headquarters further hampers the agency’s ability to provide essential services to Palestinian refugees amidst the chaos.
International calls for a ceasefire and humanitarian relief continue to grow as the situation in Gaza deteriorates.
