Heads of Mission of the European Union alongside with the United Nations (UN) on Thursday July 6, visited the rural area of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and warned that the Israeli forced displacement is a “clear violation of international law.”
During the visit, the EU and UN diplomats heard from Palestinians of Masafer Yatta, their suffering, and concerns about the Israeli threats of displacing them as well as the Israeli ongoing violations against them.
The EU mission said in a statement, “This visit comes after Israeli authorities increased coercive measures in the area, including military training, home demolitions, blocking civilian movement, impeding humanitarian aid operations and issuing demolition orders.”
Up to 1200 Palestinians living in Masafer Yatta are still under the Israeli threats of displacing them from their own houses in favor of the Israeli military training.
On May 4, an Israeli ruling lit the green light of the Israeli occupation army to start evacuating the Palestinians from their homes. Since then, dozens of Palestinian homes have been demolished.
