DaysofPal – Two Palestinians were killed and at least 24 others, including children, were injured on Sunday in a series of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, according to medical and local sources.
In the latest incident described by Palestinian sources as a violation of the ceasefire agreement, an Israeli drone targeted a gathering of Palestinians at the Fishermen’s Port along the Gaza City coastline.
Medical sources said the strike killed two Palestinians and wounded 18 others, including children, with several victims reported to be in critical condition.
The Gaza seafront has become one of the few remaining public spaces available to residents amid the extensive destruction of recreational facilities and public infrastructure caused by the two-year war.
Earlier on Sunday, Saeed Fayez Shamali died from injuries he sustained in a previous Israeli strike near Firas Market in central Gaza City.
Several other Palestinians were injured when an Israeli drone targeted the Block 9 area of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
A local source reported that Israeli occupation forces carried out a demolition operation east of Gaza City, coinciding with renewed artillery shelling of areas east of the Zeitoun neighborhood in the southeastern part of the city.
Israeli naval vessels also opened fire off the coast of Gaza City and near Khan Younis in southern Gaza, accompanied by the launch of illumination flares.
In northern Gaza, an Israeli quadcopter drone dropped an explosive device on a tent sheltering displaced families in the Jabalia refugee camp. No injuries were reported in that incident.
Meanwhile, four Palestinians, including a woman and a child who were reported to be in critical condition, were injured when an Israeli drone struck a house in Bureij refugee camp. Artillery shelling also targeted eastern areas of the camp in the central governorate.
According to the latest figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10 has risen to 929, while 2,811 others have been injured. Authorities have also recovered 781 bodies from different locations across the Gaza Strip during the same period.
The ministry’s cumulative statistics since the start of the Israeli genocidal campaign on October 7, 2023, place the overall death toll at 72,938 Palestinians, with 172,919 reported injured.
The increase in the cumulative death toll includes the addition of 112 fatalities whose records were recently completed and officially verified by the committee responsible for documenting those killed since the beginning of May.
