Palestinian administrative prisoners Khalil Awawda, 40 years, and Raed Rayan, 27 years, continue their hunger strike for the 91 days, and, for the 56 days respectively in protest of their continued administrative detention in Israeli occupation jails.
Awawdeh, from the town of Idna, suffers from headaches, pain in the joints, fatigue, irregular heartbeats, difficulty in breathing, vomiting blood, and loss of weight.
The Israeli occupation has refused to respond to his request to end his administrative detention.
Israeli occupation forces kidnaped him on 27/12/2021 and transferred him to administrative detention without any accusation being brought against him.
The other Palestinian prisoner, Rayan, is also reported to have health issues as a result of the long hunger strike.
Rayan was kidnaped on 3/10/2021 after the occupation forces raided his house.
He was transferred to administrative detention for a period of 6 months, but after the end of the detention period, it was renewed for an additional 4 months.
Meanwhile, Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli occupation jails continue to boycott the Israeli occupation courts for 152 days to demand an end to the policy of administrative detention.
In early January, the administrative prisoners announced a comprehensive boycott of all judicial procedures related to administrative detention.
Despite the administrative prisoners’ boycott of the Israeli courts from the beginning of the year, the occupation authorities deliberately escalated the policy of issuing administrative orders against Palestinian prisoners.
It should be noted that Israel’s policy of administrative detention allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.
