Days of Palestine – Ramallah
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Commission said that the Palestinian Prisoners Yaqoub Qadri and Mohammed Al Arda are being harassed and tortured constantly.
The Commission explained in a statement today, Sunday, that Qadri is subjected to poor isolation conditions in the “Ischl” Israeli prison, where the occupation authorities refuse to provide him with the necessary treatment.
It noted that Kadri suffers pain in his right hand, shoulder, and foot as a result of beatings by the Israeli occupation forces during his trial in Nazareth, and needs a television picture, but is still awaiting approval.
The Commission added that Qadri needs an eye operation due to the tear duct being closed, which affects vision and leads to headaches. It was scheduled for a year and a half but until now awaits approval. In addition to suffering from shortness of breath, he needs to be diagnosed and treated seriously.
With regard to the Mohammed Al Arda prisoner, it explained that he suffered from harsh conditions of detention in the cells of Israeli prisons, where he was kept in a cell lacking the slimiest of human life and forced to sleep on a dirty and worn out mattress, which worsened his health situation.
He began to complain of severe back pain, was transferred to the prison’s clinic, and was given only a painkiller and, after long delays, a needle.
Al-Arda, from the town of Arraba, south of Jenin, and Qadri, from the village of Bir al-Basha in the governorate of Jenin, are two of the six prisoners who have broken the cells and run away from Gilboa prison on 6 September last and were subsequently rearrested.
