The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club stated today Wednesday that the Israeli occupation prisons administration transferred the Palestinian prisoner Hussein Ali Al-Qawasmeh (49 years), from Hebron, who was sentenced to life imprisonment and 60 years, to the solitary confinement cells in “Nafha” prison.
The Prisoner Club added in a statement, that the prisoner Qawasma, who has been detained since 2011, was arrested before his current arrest and spent ten years at the time, bringing the total years of his detention to about 21 years. Immunodeficiency and he needs a healthy follow-up.
The Prisoner’s Club indicated that the prisoner al-Qawasmeh has three other brothers who are detained in the Israeli occupation prison: Hussam, Muhammad, and Hijazi al-Qawasma, noting that Husam has been sentenced to life imprisonment three times, and they are brothers of the martyrs Murad and Ahmed al-Qawasma.
It is reported that during the years of his detention, he lost his parents, and the occupation prevented him from saying goodbye to them. He is married and the father of five children. His youngest son was two and a half years old when he was arrested.
It is worth noting that the policy of solitary confinement constitutes one of the harshest and most dangerous abusive policies practiced against prisoners at its various levels. The administration of the occupation prisons has escalated solitary confinement operations compared to the past few years when the number of solitary prisoners reached about 30.
