In a clear challenge to Palestinian values and culture, some schools in occupied Jerusalem make Palestinian students unaware by dancing and singing to an Israeli anthem which comes after the incident of carrying the Israeli flag in a school graduation ceremony last week.
In the face of the recurrence of these incidents, the Hamas Department of Culture and Arts calls on the Palestinian Authority which is in charge of education and culture in occupied Jerusalem, to assume its responsibility by following up on these issues and restoring the Palestinian educational and cultural compass to its original era and working to promote Palestinian cultural and struggle values.
We in the Department of Culture and Arts denounce these actions that are foreign to our shared values and call on Arab and international educational institutions to embrace Palestinian schools in occupied Jerusalem from the cultural and moral Judaization that the Israeli occupation seeks by enticing and intimidating schools in occupied Jerusalem in following a well-known Judaizing policy.
