DaysofPal – Israeli settlers intensified attacks across several areas of the occupied West Bank on Thursday, with incidents including the theft of dozens of sheep, assaults on Palestinians and vehicles, and the targeting of a vehicle carrying school students east of Bethlehem.
Resident Ibrahim Abu Ali said a group of armed settlers infiltrated his sheep enclosure in the Hiribat al-Nabi area of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and stole 45 sheep.
In the same area, settlers dressed in Israeli military-style uniforms assaulted Palestinian resident Mohammed al-Nawajaa near Wadi Ajhish after detaining and abusing him. The attackers also damaged his private vehicle.
In the town of Bani Naim, east of Hebron, Israeli occupation forces raided the area and detained dozens of Palestinians, subjecting them to searches and mistreatment before later releasing them without making arrests.
In Bethlehem, settlers attacked a vehicle transporting students from the village of al-Rashaida to their school in Kisan, east of the governorate, after blocking the main road near the settlement of Ma’ale Amos. The incident reportedly caused panic among the students.
The villages of Kisan and al-Rashaida have witnessed an escalation in settler attacks targeting schoolchildren, including attempted vehicular assaults, pursuits, and intimidation while students travel to school.
In Nablus, a Palestinian woman suffered bruises after settlers attacked her vehicle near the settlement of Yitzhar, south of the city, causing a traffic accident that led to her hospitalization.
Another Palestinian man and his son were injured after settlers assaulted them in the town of Yasid, north of Nablus, leaving them with wounds and bruises.
These incidents come amid a broader rise in attacks targeting Palestinian villages and residents’ property, alongside accusations of field coordination between Israeli occupation forces and settler groups across different areas of the West Bank.
In a related development, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that April witnessed 1,637 attacks carried out by Israeli occupation forces and settlers. The incidents included vandalism, property confiscation, and theft, as well as the uprooting and destruction of thousands of olive trees across various West Bank governorates.
