Sarah Leah Whitson, executive director of Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), condemned ongoing Israeli actions against Palestinians, emphasizing that crimes such as starvation, bombardment, and torture should not be subjects for negotiation.
“Starving people, bombarding civilians, torturing Palestinians in prisons – stopping these Israeli crimes should never be subject to negotiation, any more than a murderer should negotiate how many more people he will kill before he stops,” Whitson asserted.
Her remarks came in response to a report suggesting that a potential ceasefire deal could allow 600 trucks of humanitarian aid into Gaza daily. Whitson raised critical questions about the current lack of substantial humanitarian relief, emphasizing the urgency and scale needed to address the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
