The State of Qatar condemned on Thursday, July 27, the recent incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Security Minister, along with hundreds of Israeli settlers.
The groups performed Talmudic rituals within the mosque’s courtyards under the protection of Israeli forces, an act deemed a blatant violation of international law and the Hashemite guardianship over the sanctities in occupied Jerusalem.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry issued a warning against the escalating policy adopted by the Israeli government in the occupied Palestinian territories. This policy includes recurrent attempts to compromise the religious and historical status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, not only affecting the Palestinian people but millions of Muslims worldwide.
The ministry explicitly held the Israeli occupation authorities solely accountable for the potential violence resulting from these violations and repeated incursions into the revered site.
Highlighting the systematic and intentional escalation against the Palestinian people and their sacred lands, the ministry urged the international community to take urgent action to halt these incursions and protect the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Qatar reaffirmed its unwavering support for the just Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, emphasizing their full right to practice their religious rites without restrictions and to establish their independent state.
This stance aligns with Qatar’s consistent commitment to the Palestinian cause, seeking justice and recognition of the Palestinian people’s rightful aspirations.
As the situation unfolds, international attention remains on the importance of preserving the historical and religious significance of Al-Aqsa Mosque and finding a just resolution to the Palestinian cause.
