Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan entered on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, his 53rd day of hunger strike in Israeli prisons to protest his administrative detention.
Prisoner Adnan is currently held in the Ramlah prison clinic center under inhumane and harsh conditions. He was transferred to the clinic following the deterioration of his health conditions.
Last week, Adnan delivered a message to the Palestinian people coinciding with the first day of Ramadan, calling upon them to support his battle of hunger strike.
Despite his serious health conditions, Israeli occupation authorities have not responded yet to Adnan’s demands for freedom.
Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces repeatedly assaulted Adnan in an attempt to force him to suspend his hunger strike.
Israeli occupation forces kidnapped Khader Adnan, 44, on February 5, 2023, after invading his home in occupied Jenin, the Palestinian prisoners’ Society PPS said.
Khader Adnan was arrested at least 12 times, and he spent a total of about eight years in Israeli prisons. He was held under administrative detention during most of his arrests.
Prisoner Adnan had gone through five previous hunger strikes in Israeli prisons, including four strikes against administrative detention.
Israeli occupation authorities currently hold some 4780 Palestinians in prisons, including 160 children and 30 women.
