DaysofPal- Mass gatherings took place today in Gaza City, including tribal leaders, directors of the medical and health sectors, and families of martyrs, who participated in a march they called a “shroud march” rejecting Israeli forced displacement and eviction from the city, despite ongoing Israeli killing and bombing.
Participants assembled at Sarayat Square in central Gaza, carrying signs reading “We will not leave,” “Our displacement from Gaza is only to the sky,” and “Steadfast in Gaza until the soul departs.”
The demonstrators also carried the Palestinian flag, reaffirming their attachment to their land and rejecting the threats of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to displace residents forcibly.
The Israeli occupation forces recently announced new evacuation threats covering all areas of Gaza City, as a prelude to what it calls a “major new offensive under the name Gideon’s Vehicles 2.”
The Israeli assault follows more than 23 months of continuous attacks, and Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir officially confirmed last week that the campaign aims to achieve full control of Gaza City after besieging it and displacing its Palestinian residents.
Moreover, social media platforms saw widespread engagement as activists, public figures, and citizens used hashtags #لن_نرحل (#WeWillNotLeave) and #مش_طالعين (#NotLeaving) to emphasize rejection of displacement and resist the Israeli plans.
Participants stressed that remaining in their homes and on their land is an inalienable right, regardless of the risks, and affirmed that any attempt to displace them would fail in the face of their resilience.
They are committed to standing firm, protecting the city, and preserving their dignity as part of their national resistance.
With U.S. support, the Israeli occupation has been carrying out genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 64,605 Palestinian deaths and 163,319 injuries, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people.
