DayofPal– The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club has reported a sharp escalation in violent crackdowns against Palestinian detainees inside Ofer Prison, marking a continuation of systematic repression that has intensified amid the ongoing war and mass aggression.
According to testimonies gathered by the Club’s lawyers, a particularly brutal assault took place on the night of February 16, when heavily armed Israeli prison forces stormed multiple sections of the facility. The raid involved the use of police dogs, grenades, and severe beatings, leaving many prisoners injured to varying degrees.
Beyond physical violence, detainees are subjected to extreme weather conditions as another form of punishment. Despite the harsh winter cold, Israeli prison authorities have refused to provide adequate clothing and blankets, effectively using freezing temperatures as an additional method of torment.
This latest wave of systematic abuse and torture is part of a broader policy of repression targeting Palestinian prisoners, a practice that has reached unprecedented levels during the ongoing military escalation.
Rights organizations have repeatedly condemned Israel’s treatment of Palestinian detainees, warning that these violations amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
As the humanitarian crisis deepens, calls for urgent international intervention grow louder. Yet, for the detainees inside Ofer and other Israeli prisons, the daily reality remains one of brutality, deprivation, and relentless oppression.
Late Monday, the Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Prisoners’ Club announced the death of 35-year-old Musab Hani Haniyeh in Israeli prisons citing sever torture and maltreatment against him.
