The Palestinian prisoner Iyad Jaradat, 38, from Jenin, has been facing extremely difficult detention conditions for over two years, as reported by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.
He has been held in isolation in Elon prison. He and 4 other prisoners were sentenced by the Israeli occupation court to an additional 4 years in prison and fined 2000 shekels.
According to the statement, his lawyer mentioned that Jaradat has been deprived of visits, canteen access, and electricity for months, and has undergone harsh interrogations and financial penalties.
He is serving a life sentence plus 25 years, having been arrested in 2002. Additionally, he has been subjected to various forms of physical and psychological punishment during his detention.
