Days of Palestine – Ramallah
Palestinian Prisoners Khalil Mohammad Khalil Awwada, 40, from the southern occupied West Bank province of Hebron, continues his hunger strike for the 24th day in a row, in refusal to continue his administrative detention.
The Mahjah Al-Quds Foundation for Martyrs, Prisoners and Wounded said that on the 11th day of prisoner Awwada hunger strike, the Israeli Ofer prison administration moved the prisoner from the departments to the isolation cells, describing the cell where he was staying as too bad and too cold.
They assert that the prison administration denies Awwada’s right to a “fora” rest time, despite his numerous requests for it, especially since seven days later a hunger-sturk prisoner is entitled to a one-hour fora each day, which he has yet to receive.
In his letter, the captiveAwwada said that he takes nothing but water without salt or sugar, pointing to a feeling of severe and permanent wasting, pains in his joints and head, and constant dizziness.
The prisoner Awwada began an open hunger strike on 3 March 2022 to refuse to continue his arbitrary administrative detention without being charged by the occupation authorities, demanding the cancellation of his administrative detention and his release.
Prisoner Khalil Awwada, born on 13 January 1981, married; He is the father of four girls, who was arrested by the occupation forces on 27 December 2021.
He was transferred to arbitrary administrative detention without any charges being brought against him, knowing that he was previously arrested in connection with his membership to the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine and resistance to the occupation.
