Palestinian female detainee Amna Ishtayyeh was set free on Friday morning, August 2, after serving six months behind the bars in Israeli prisons.
Relatives and family members of Amna warmly welcomed her at the Salem military checkpoint in Jenin in an atmosphere of joy and celebration.
Prisoner Amna Ishtayyeh is a student at An-Najah National University. She was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in March 2022, during an Israeli military raid on her family’s home in the town of Tal, southwest of Nablus.
Members of Amna’s family had previously experienced detention, as the Israeli occupation forces arrested her father and two brothers at different times. They were released after serving various sentences.
