The Alliance of Palestinian Right to Support Institutions in the United States of America today, Tuesday, organized a demonstration in front of the office of the Attorney General of New York to demand the closure of the offices of American settlement organizations including two organizations that fund and collect donations for the “Atirat Cohanim” movement.
In a statement, the coalition said that the demonstration aims to pressure Attorney General Jones to close down and prosecute four New York City-based settlement organizations.
They explained that the organizations are: “The Central Budget of Israel, Friends of Ateret Cohanim, the Organization for Financing the Outpost in Hebron, and the Friends of David.”
The demonstrators seek to close these organizations for their role in supporting settlements by providing financial support and seizing Palestinian lands.
The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 4:30 New York time in front of the New York City Attorney’s office, Jones.
The Ateret Cohanim Association uses the Israeli law issued in 1970 to seize Palestinian homes in Jerusalem. In return, the Palestinians are deprived of reclaiming property; they have official documents in the city’s west.
