Days of Palestine – Amman

For the second day in a row, hundreds of Jordanian people participated in a protest stand near the Israeli embassy in the Jordanian capital Amman, in support of Palestinian people in occupied Jerusalem.

The participants expressed their anger and rejection of the violations of the Israeli occupation in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and chanted slogans saluting the steadfastness of Jerusalem, its youth, its elderly, women, and children in the face of the arrogance of the Israeli occupation.

The participants raised the flags of Jordan and Palestine and called on the whole world to take action to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On Saturday, Jordan condemned the Israeli police crackdown on the Palestinian people in occupied Jerusalem.

Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Daifallah al-Fayez stressed that the international community must halt Israel’s ongoing violations and provocations.

More than 200 Palestinians have been injured in clashes between Israeli forces and local residents in Jerusalem since Thursday, along with detaining at least 100 Palestinians.

Several extremist Jewish groups have called for attacking Palestinians in response to alleged Palestinian attacks on Israelis in the flashpoint city.

Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem, have been under Israeli occupation since 1967. The Isreali occupation is considered illegal under international law.
