Israeli occupation forces on Sunday shut down several roads leading to several Bedouin hamlets in Masafer Yatta community, south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, local sources said.

Rateb Jabour, who monitors Israeli violations in the area, told the Palestinian official WAFA news agency that Israeli occupation army bulldozers shut down with earth mounds several roads linking these hamlets with the nearby town of Yatta, denying access of the population of these hamlets to their surroundings.

Masafer Yatta, a collection of almost 19 hamlets that rely heavily on animal husbandry as the main source of livelihood. It is located in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli administrative and military control.

The area has been a frequent target of almost daily assaults by the Israeli military and settlers, who wish to empty the area of its indigenous Palestinian population for settlement expansion purposes.
