Israeli occupation forces desecrated on Tuesday the Ibrahimi Mosque in the southern West Bank city of Hebron when they entered it and forced its Muslim employee and staff to leave it, according to officials from the Islamic Waqf department.
They warned that Israel has recently intensified its measures against the Muslim holy place in an attempt to take it over in total.
The Ibrahimi Mosque, located in the Israeli-controlled section of Hebron known as H2, has been divided between Muslims and Jews since the massacre on February 25, 1994 of Muslim worshippers as they were performing the dawn prayers on a Ramadan day by a Jewish settler.
The mosque is also referred to as Cave of the Patriarchs.
