British police clashed on Monday with peaceful protesters, who were heading towards London arms fair to protest against UK’s complicity in the oppression of the Palestinian people.
Protesters called to stop providing the occupation state of Israel with arms and to act towards Israel’s violations.
The Executive Director of War on Want, Asad Rehman, said that the British government is “rolling out the red carpet for human rights violating regimes to buy the weapons of death.”
“We no longer need empty words or crocodile tears, the government has to act, and the government has to shut down this arms fair and shut down this immoral trade,” he added.
Police officers were seen grabbing and pushing protesters to the side of the road, as they tried to block deliveries to the venue by standing in the road.
The DSEI arms fair is held every two years and is considered to be among the largest of its kind.
‘Israel’ takes part in the fair and usually marks its weapons as “tested” after using it against Palestinians, which ironically increases its sales.
‘Israel’ uses fatal weapons, sometimes newly produced, against Palestinian protesters in Gaza in weekly protests, leaving hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries.
